Xavier Dolan is 26-year-old French-Canadian actor and filmmaker. At the tender age of 20, he starred in the internationally acclaimed film J'ai Tué Ma Mère, a film he both wrote and directed. Dolan's films are visually stunning, and often deal with the complexities of human emotion. I was introduced to Dolan's work when I was a teenager and I was immediately drawn to the artistic flair with which he approaches his films. His films opened my eyes to things I had never experienced before and I found myself yearning for more each time I finished watching one of his movies. The fact that he is a mere four years older than me never ceases to amaze me. I am continuously inspired by how much he has achieved at such a young age, and the enthusiasm with which he pursues his passions. I try to follow his example by being wholeheartedly committed to whatever I am working towards in life. I am also always thrilled when I discover that he has a new film coming out. His next film will be his first English-film, and I, for one, could not be more excited.
